For almost 20 years, Dr. Howson has created evidence-based education content for healthcare professionals that is grounded in adult learning principles and clinical insight. Trained in qualitative methodologies at the University of Edinburgh, Dr. Howson has also collected and analyzed qualitative data to support initiatives in continuing education/continuing professional development, quality improvement, and patient safety.

Alexandra Howson Ph.D., FACEhp is a CME/CE writer and educator who teaches best practices in continuing education content for health professionals. She was a trauma OR nurse for several years before working as faculty at the Universities of Edinburgh and Aberdeen. She has published CME-related scholarship in peer-reviewed journals and teaches in Professional Certificate Programs at the University of Chicago. Alex hosts Write Medicine, a weekly podcast exploring best practices in creating continuing education content for health professionals and runs WriteCME Pro. Her most recent book is WriteCME Roadmap: How to Thrive in CME with No Experience, No Network, and No Clue (Tilt Publishing, 2024). |
