Brief biography: Laurie Isenberg, MILS, MA, CHCP, has extensive experience in medical education, with expertise in adult and continuing education. She currently manages programs for physicians in obesity, substance use disorder, adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), and diabetes. All projects are designed from a person-centered, trauma-informed perspective. A graduate of Cornell University (natural resources) and University of Michigan (information/library studies), Laurie’s early career focused on medical education and librarianship. Positions at University of Michigan and University of California, San Francisco libraries served physicians, nurses, pharmacists and public health professionals in pursuit of research and treatment goals, as well as students in these professions. Early work on the UCSF Cigarette Papers paved the way for an enduring shift in public health policy and practice around nicotine products. More recently she has specialized in continuing medication education (CME), developing programs in allied health and family medicine.
