| Brief biography: | Dr. Marcia Jackson is President of CME by Design, a consulting group that provides the full range of instructional design services in the field of continuing health professions education. Dr. Jackson entered the field of continuing medical education at The University of Iowa while completing her doctoral studies in instructional design and evaluation. Dr. Jackson served as division vice president and senior advisor for education at the American College of Cardiology from 1992-2007. In these roles she provided strategic leadership and supported special initiatives representing new activities and directions. Dr. Jackson, a recognized leader in continuing health professions education, currently chairs the Medscape Education Advisory Board. She is a past member of the Board of Directors and past President of the Alliance for Continuing Medical Education (now ACEHP), a recipient of the ACCME Robert Razskowski Award and the Alliance for CME Distinguished Service Award. Dr. Jackson leads numerous sessions at national meetings, designs and facilitates national workshops, and provides executive level leadership to physician committees, task forces, and boards. |
